23103425DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That temporary funding shall be provided to each elementary and secondary school identified as an underperforming school, or as a school that did not meet the performance benchmarks for three or more school quality indicators based on the Board of Education's most recent accreditation calculations, for the purpose of hiring instructional assistants to (i) help teachers provide small group and individualized instruction, (ii) assist teachers with managing the various instructional and behavioral needs of students, and (iii) reduce teacher workloads. Such instructional assistants shall not be subject to any support position per student ratio set forth in § 22.1-253.13:2 of the Code of Virginia.
