23103752DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 2.1 of Chapter 4 of Title 32.1 a section numbered 32.1-111.15:2 and by adding a section numbered 32.1-137.09:1 as follows:
§ 32.1-111.15:2. Reporting of controlled substance overdoses.
Every EMS agency or EMS provider that treats and releases a person in response to a suspected or actual overdose of a controlled substance shall report such incident to the Department within 120 hours. The Department shall transfer data on such reports to the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area's Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program or other appropriate program with secure access identified by the Department.
§ 32.1-137.09:1. Reporting of controlled substance overdoses.
