Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 1 of Title 56 a section numbered 56-8.3 as follows:

§ 56-8.3. Commission vacancy; extensions.

Whenever a vacancy in the Commission shall occur or exist, any provision of § 56-580, 56-585.1, 56-585.1:4, 56-585.1:9, 56-585.1:11, 56-585.5, 56-599, 56-602, 56-604, or 56-625 that requires the Commission to act within less than 12 months from the date of a filing shall be extended to 12 months from the date of such filing.
