JOINT CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT

We, the conferees, appointed by the respective bodies to consider and report upon the disagreeing vote on Senate Bill No. 1211, report as follows:

We recommend that the House Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute (23106710D) be accepted with the following amendments to resolve the matter under disagreement:

        The standing committee shall oversee and direct the operations of the schools and divisions previously existing as the Eastern Virginia Medical School, including overseeing and directing their financial operations and exercising such other decision-making authority over those schools and divisions as the standing committee deems necessary or appropriate. The standing committee shall oversee and direct the operations of any other academic and operational units comprising the Eastern Virginia Health Sciences Center at the University as delegated by and subject to the power and authority of the board.
