SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Elections; qualifications of the general registrar, residency. Exempts counties and cities with a population of 50,000 or less from the requirement that a person appointed to serve as a general registrar must be a qualified voter of the county or city for which he is appointed. Currently, such exemption applies to counties and cities with a population of 25,000 or less.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Elections; qualifications of the general registrar, residency. Removes the requirement that the general registrar of a locality be a resident of that locality or an adjacent locality.
