Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-12.2 as follows:

§ 18.2-12.2. Limitation on mandatory minimum punishment.

Any mandatory minimum, as defined in § 18.2-12.1, shall not apply to any sentence imposed for an offense committed on or after July 1, 2020. For offenses committed on or after July 1, 2020, a court may suspend in full or in part any punishment imposed.
