SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Projecting laser at another person unlawful; penalties. Provides that if any person intentionally projects a beam or a point of light from a laser, a laser gun sight, or any device that simulates a laser at another person with the intent to cause bodily injury, such person is guilty of a Class 6 felony. The bill also increases from a Class 2 misdemeanor to a Class 1 misdemeanor the penalty for intentionally projecting a laser pointer without such intent at a person while knowing or having reason to know such person is a law-enforcement or corrections officer.
