SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Constitutional amendment (first resolution); uniform schedule of elections for members of the General Assembly and statewide offices. Provides for a uniform schedule for general elections of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and General Assembly members that coincides with federal elections held in November of even-numbered years. The amendment requires the General Assembly to provide by law for the transition to the uniform schedule, and provides that members of the Senate elected in 2023 will serve a term of five years, members of the House of Delegates elected in 2025 will serve a term of three years, and the Governor, and by reference the Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General, elected in 2025 will serve a term of three years.
