Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-1638.1 as follows:

§ 15.2-1638.1. Judicial assistants.

A judicial assistant serving a circuit court judge and whose position is funded in whole or in part by a county or city shall serve at the pleasure and under the sole management and supervision of the presiding judge of the circuit court.
