20101447DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 29.1-528.3 as follows:
§ 29.1-528.3. Firearms ordinances; property in multiple localities; affirmative defense.
Any person who (i) is hunting on private property that is owned by a particular landowner and is composed of one or more contiguous parcels that together span two or more localities whose firearms ordinances differ, (ii) crosses the boundary from the first to the second locality while hunting, (iii) at all times follows the firearm ordinances of the first locality, and (iv) after crossing such boundary is charged with a violation of a firearms ordinance of the second locality with whose counterpart in the first county the hunter remained in compliance shall have an affirmative defense to such charge.
