2019 SPECIAL SESSION I
WHEREAS, in 2019, Miles Young, chief of the Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department, retired after nearly five decades of service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Miles Young joined the Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department in 1970 and safeguarded countless Prince William County residents over the course of his long career; and
WHEREAS, Miles Young ably responded to fires, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations and provided leadership and guidance to his fellow firefighters; and
WHEREAS, Miles Young also offered his expertise to the Prince William County Fire and Rescue Association’s board of directors and executive committee; and
WHEREAS, on June 23, 2019, Miles Young completed his final duties with Battalion 507 of the Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Miles Young hereby be commended on the occasion of his retirement from Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Miles Young as an expression of the Senate of Virginia’s admiration for his service to the residents of Prince William County and best wishes for a happy retirement.
