SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Charter; City of Richmond; runoff elections. Provides that the procedures and deadlines for voter registration, applying for an absentee ballot, and casting an absentee ballot for any runoff election in the City of Richmond shall be as provided under state law for general elections. This bill is identical to SB 1193.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Charter; City of Richmond; runoff elections. Provides, for any runoff election for mayor after a general election or runoff election to fill a vacancy for the office of mayor after a special election, that voter registration records be closed as provided for general elections and applications for absentee ballots be made by the applicable deadlines prescribed for the immediately preceding general election for the office of mayor, regardless of whether an applicant has offered to vote in such general election.
