19101562DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding sections numbered 46.2-816.1 and 46.2-816.2 as follows:
§ 46.2-816.1. Failure to give full time and attention.
No person shall drive a motor vehicle on the highways of the Commonwealth without giving full time and attention necessary for the safe operation of the vehicle.
§ 46.2-816.2. Failure to avoid a collision.
The driver of a motor vehicle shall exercise due care and decrease the speed of such vehicle as necessary to avoid colliding with any person, vehicle, or other conveyance on or entering the highway.
