19102325DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Department of Transportation (the Department) shall, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Center for Recurrent Flooding Resiliency, identify public transportation infrastructure in Virginia that is at risk of (i) flooding or (ii) deterioration due to recurrent flooding. Public transportation infrastructure includes roads, docks, bridges, wharfs, ditches, outfalls, drainage right-of-ways, and signage. The Department shall develop a plan and cost estimates for managing such infrastructure. The plan shall be organized by the classification of the location of such infrastructure as urban, suburban, rural, or rural coastal. The Department shall complete its meetings by November 30, 2019, and the Commissioner shall submit to the Division of Legislative Automated Systems a report of its findings and recommendations no later than the first day of the 2020 Regular Session of the General Assembly. The executive summary and report shall be submitted as provided in the procedures of the Division of Legislative Automated Systems for the processing of legislative documents and reports and shall be posted on the General Assembly's website.
