HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 617
Commending Wallace Stokes.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, May 30, 2018

 

WHEREAS, Wallace Stokes of Charlotte County, a paraprofessional/bus driver for Randolph-Henry High School, received the Most Spirited Staff Member award from Varsity Brands in 2018; and

WHEREAS, the Most Spirited Staff Member award is presented to outstanding school staff members who hold important but often underappreciated jobs, such as crossing guards, custodians, cafeteria workers, and bus drivers; and

WHEREAS, Wallace Stokes was nominated by staff members of Randolph-Henry High School for his willingness to go above and beyond in service to students and the community and his tireless work to brighten the days of students, faculty, and staff members alike; and

WHEREAS, Wallace Stokes turns his job into an opportunity to touch the lives of others on a daily basis, promoting and reinforcing a positive, supportive atmosphere at Randolph-Henry High School; and

WHEREAS, Wallace Stokes received the award at a special ceremony on May 12, 2018, in Orlando, Florida, where he also participated in a school spirit roundtable discussion; and

WHEREAS, as winner of the Most Spirited Staff Member award, Wallace Stokes can be seen on the CBS Sports Network on June 10, 2018, when the Varsity Brands School Spirit Awards Show is televised; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Wallace Stokes hereby be commended on his selection as the Most Spirited Staff Member in 2018; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Wallace Stokes as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for his achievements in service to the students of Randolph-Henry High School.
