18200125DWHEREAS, Theresa Tribble Caldwell, a woman of deep and abiding faith who made many contributions to cultural and civic life in Richmond, died on December 15, 2017; and
WHEREAS, a native of Seattle, Washington, Theresa “Terri” Tribble Caldwell earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University, then relocated to Richmond in 1970; and
WHEREAS, Terri Caldwell had a lifelong love of music and was a devotee of ballet and the opera; she studied piano in her youth, sang in the Handel Choir in Baltimore, Maryland, and was a charter member of the Richmond Symphony Chorus; and
WHEREAS, Terri Caldwell served as an elder in the Presbyterian Church, a moderator of the Presbytery of the James, and a commissioner to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church; and
WHEREAS, a champion for education, Terri Caldwell served two terms on the Richmond School Board, was a founding member of PIPE (People of the church Involved in Public Education), a Micah Initiative participant, and inspired young students as a tutor; and
WHEREAS, a devoted wife and mother, Terri Caldwell will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, John; her children, Kathleen Caldwell, Patricia Robinson, and Sarah Caldwell, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Theresa Tribble Caldwell, an active member of the Richmond community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Theresa Tribble Caldwell as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for her memory.
