SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE: (all summaries)

Riparian planting grounds lease; eligibility; Lynnhaven River. Reduces from 205 feet to 105 feet the minimum low-water shore front that makes the landowner eligible to apply for riparian planting grounds assignment by the Commissioner of the Marine Resources Commission. Reduces from 205 feet to 105 feet the minimum low-water shore front that makes the landowner eligible to apply for riparian planting grounds assignment by the Commissioner of the Marine Resources Commission, and provides that an eligible owner with less than 205 feet of shore front may apply for as much as one-quarter acre of planting grounds. The bill maintains current provisions authorizing the assignment of as much as one-half acre for a riparian landowner with at least 205 feet of shoreline. The bill provides that the Commissioner shall assign such ground in the Lynnhaven River and its tributaries only when the assignment is in the public interest.
