Introduced by: John C. Miller (Deceased) | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles | history
SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Standards of Learning assessments; students whose parent has decided to not have his child take. Prohibits the Board of Education from including in its calculation of the passage rate of a Standards of Learning assessment for the purposes of state accountability any student whose parent has decided to not have his child take such Standards of Learning assessment, unless such exclusion would result in the school's not meeting any required state or federal participation rate.
SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Standards of Learning assessments; students who refuse to take. Prohibits the Board of Education from including in its calculation of the passage rate of a Standards of Learning assessment for the purposes of state accountability any student who has refused to take such Standards of Learning assessment. The bill requires, however, that the Board include in such calculation 95 percent of all students in a school regardless of the number of students who refuse to take a Standards of Learning assessment.
