SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Third-party testers for commercial driver's licenses. Provides that the Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles may designate community colleges to administer the knowledge and skills tests required of applicants for a commercial driver's license.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Certification of driver education courses. Allows a person that is certified as a third-party tester that administers a test program for testing commercial driver's license applicants by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to be licensed as a driver training school that provides training in the operation of commercial motor vehicles. The bill requires DMV to repeal corresponding regulations.
