HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 199 Offered March 7, 2016 Commending Claire Nguyen. ---------- Patrons-- Greason and Minchew ----------

WHEREAS, Claire Nguyen became Riverside High School’s first state champion when she won an individual state title at the Virginia High School League Group 3A state swim and dive championship on February 19, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Claire Nguyen, a freshman at Riverside High School, which opened in Loudoun County in 2015, helped lead the girls’ swim and dive team to the 2016 state final in Richmond; and

WHEREAS, in the state final, Claire Nguyen placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.23; and

WHEREAS, Claire Nguyen also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:58.32; and

WHEREAS, Claire Nguyen succeeded with the support of her teammates, coaches, family, and friends and the entire Riverside High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Claire Nguyen hereby be commended on winning an individual state title at the Virginia High School League Group 3A state swim and dive championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Claire Nguyen as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for her outstanding achievement and best wishes for the future.
