Commending the Atlee High School archery team.

WHEREAS, the Atlee High School archery team claimed first place at the seventh annual National Archery in the Schools Program state tournament on March 14, 2015; and

WHEREAS, with more than 22,500 arrows loosed by more than 500 archers throughout the day, the Atlee High School Raiders faced worthy competitors from 31 other schools at the event, which was held at Meadow Event Park in Doswell and hosted by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries; and

WHEREAS, the Atlee High School Raiders took first place in the high school division and earned the title of state champion with an overall team score of 3,302; and

WHEREAS, Allison Greenday of Atlee High School also received a first place award in the individual rankings with a score of 289; and

WHEREAS, with the state championship win, the Atlee High School Raiders earned a trip to the National Archery in the Schools Program national tournament in Kentucky in May 2015; and

WHEREAS, the victory is a testament to the exceptional skill and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership of the coaches and staff, and the energetic support of the entire Atlee High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Atlee High School archery team for winning the 2015 National Archery in the Schools Program state tournament; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bruce Lovelace, coach of the Atlee High School archery team, as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for the team’s achievements and best wishes for the future.
