HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 518 Celebrating the life of Madison Small.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, August 17, 2015

 

WHEREAS, Madison Small, a beloved member of the Ashburn community and a star student-athlete at Broad Run High School, died on April 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Madison Small was a senior at Broad Run High School, where she earned a reputation as a caring and compassionate friend and brought joy into the lives of many of her classmates with her positive attitude and bright smile; and

WHEREAS, a longtime softball player, Madison Small developed a passion for the sport when she attended her older sister’s games; she began playing in an 8U Coach Pitch league and later joined the Ashburn Girls Softball League Shooting Stars; and

WHEREAS, Madison Small was a four-year varsity softball player for the Broad Run High School Spartans, and she had been serving as team captain; she was respected by teammates and coaches for her work ethic and willingness to play any position; and

WHEREAS, Madison Small will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous family members, friends, and teammates; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Madison Small, a beloved member of the Ashburn community and a talented student-athlete; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Madison Small as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for her memory.
