Introduced by: Stephen D. Newman | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles | history
SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Hauling motor fuels; times of emergency. Directs certain state agencies to establish a protocol for a declaration of a state of emergency for resource shortages that adversely affect the delivery of motor fuels, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, number one and number two heating oils, or liquid propane gas and to report on such protocol by the first day of the 2016 Session. This bill is identical to HB 1522.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Vehicles hauling motor fuels. Authorizes the Director of the Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy to temporarily suspend weight limits and driver hour limitations for commercial vehicles hauling motor fuels, heating oil, and certain other liquid fuels during times when a condition exists that adversely affects the delivery of such fuels to the citizens of the Commonwealth. The circumstances under which these limits may be suspended need not involve a state of emergency, disaster, or act of God within the Commonwealth.
