SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Enforcement of the Uniform Statewide Building Code by certain state-recognized Indian tribes. Authorizes a state-recognized Indian tribe to be responsible for the enforcement of the Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) on any Indian reservation recognized by the Commonwealth if the Indian tribe has adopted the USBC by tribal ordinance and (i) assumed sole responsibility for existing buildings and new construction on the reservation and (ii) retained firms or individuals to function as the building official for purposes of enforcing the ordinance.
