HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 218
Celebrating the life of William Caleb Wharton.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 30, 2015

 

WHEREAS, William Caleb Wharton, a junior at Hampden-Sydney College and a beloved member of the Richmond community, died on November 2, 2014; and

WHEREAS, a 2012 graduate of the Collegiate School in Richmond, Caleb Wharton was a talented athlete who played varsity football and lacrosse; he was also a valued teammate on the Amped Lax travel team; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Wharton attended Hampden-Sydney College, where he continued to play lacrosse and joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity; and

WHEREAS, a loyal and understanding friend to many, Caleb Wharton was sensitive to the needs of others and expressed genuine care for those around him; and

WHEREAS, known for his infectious laugh and positive attitude, Caleb Wharton spread joy to everyone he met; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Wharton will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his parents, Abbie and Kemper; siblings, Conrad and Libba; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of William Caleb Wharton, a student at Hampden-Sydney College and a beloved member of the Richmond community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of William Caleb Wharton as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
