SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Seizure and forfeiture of property used in connection with the commission of certain crimes. Provides that property used in connection with certain crimes associated with human trafficking is subject to forfeiture to the Commonwealth. The bill requires a conviction before property can be forfeited and any seized property will be released if there is no conviction.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Seizure and forfeiture of property used in connection with the commission of larcenies; certain other crimes. Provides that property used in connection with certain crimes associated with human trafficking is subject to forfeiture to the Commonwealth. The bill also removes certain duplicative offenses from an asset forfeiture statute pertaining only to automobiles.
