Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 23-2.4 as follows:

§ 23-2.4. Student-athlete discipline policies.

The board of visitors or other governing board of each public institution of higher education in the Commonwealth shall establish and enforce policies for the discipline of students who participate in varsity intercollegiate athletics.

2. That the board of visitors or other governing board of each public institution of higher education in the Commonwealth shall establish policies pursuant to this act no later than July 1, 2015.
