SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 353
Authorizing a change of venue for the Outstanding Virginian celebration.

WHEREAS, the Outstanding Virginian celebration annually honors a Virginian who has made an indelible mark on the Commonwealth through his or her leadership and service; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to House Joint Resolution No. 165 (1984), the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center has hosted the Outstanding Virginian celebration, bringing together the Outstanding Virginian and family members, friends, and admirers; and

WHEREAS, circumstances might exist when a venue other than the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center would be more appropriate for the Outstanding Virginian celebration; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly authorize a change of venue for the Outstanding Virginian celebration; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That, notwithstanding the provisions of House Joint Resolution No. 165 (1984), the Outstanding Virginian celebration may be held at a location designated by the Outstanding Virginian Committee; and, be it

RESOLVED FINALLY, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a copy of this resolution to the Outstanding Virginian Committee and Nora Belle Comer, Executive Director of the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center, requesting that they further disseminate copies of this resolution to their respective constituents so that they may be apprised of the sense of the General Assembly of Virginia in this matter.
