2013 SESSION
WHEREAS, the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department celebrates 35 years of serving the community in 2013; and
WHEREAS, the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1978 by members of the Rapidan community to increase the safety and well-being of their fellow residents; and
WHEREAS, the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department provides exceptional community-focused fire protection, fire suppression, emergency medical services, and public education; and
WHEREAS, the dedicated firefighters of the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department are highly trained and provide expert care and service with the latest equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department works with other regional departments and the community to provide training opportunities and guidance on a variety of subjects, including emergency medicine and hurricane preparation; and
WHEREAS, the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department is active in the community, supporting a variety of organizations, events, and charitable causes; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department proudly serve the community, adhering to the core values of professionalism, integrity, commitment, and safety; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department on the occasion of its 35th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Rapidan Volunteer Fire Department as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect and appreciation for the department’s contributions to the community.
