2013 SESSION
13101910DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 4 of Chapter 13 of Title 22.1 a section numbered 22.1-227.2 as follows:
§ 22.1-227.2. Immunity of entities providing career and technical occupational experiences.
Any entity providing a career and technical occupational experience to a public secondary school student, and its officers and employees, shall be entitled to immunity in any civil action or proceeding for damages or injury to any such student or property of such student to the same extent that local school boards and their members and employees are immune.
2. That the provisions of this act shall become effective on July 1, 2013 only if the Board of Education does not develop, prior to July 1, 2013, a model waiver form for use by any entity providing a career and technical occupational experience to public secondary school students.
