SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals; onsite sewage system installers.  Provides that regulations of the Board of Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals shall include requirements for the division of sewage system installers into classes, one of which shall be restricted to the installation of conventional onsite sewage systems, and that the Board shall not require applicants for initial licensure as a conventional onsite sewage system installer to pass an examination prior to the issuance of such license provided that the applicant satisfactorily demonstrates to the Board that he has been actively engaged in the performance of duties of a conventional onsite sewage system installer for at least eight years within the 12-year period immediately preceding the date of application for licensure. The bill sunsets on July 1, 2016. The bill is identical to HB 1262.

Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals; onsite sewage system installers.  Provides that the Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals shall not require applicants for initial licensure as a conventional onsite sewage system installer to pass an examination provided the applicant satisfactorily demonstrates to the Board that he has been actively engaged in performing the duties of a conventional onsite sewage system installer for at least five years prior to the date of application for licensure.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals; onsite sewage system installers.  Removes conventional sewage system installers from the requirement to be licensed by the Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals. Alternative septic system installers and alternative and conventional onsite soil evaluators are still required to be licensed.
