2012 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That, notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Virginia Department of Transportation, with the approval of the Governor, is hereby authorized to convey that portion of a parcel of land bounded by Virginia Route 19, Virginia Route 1015, and Virginia Route 610 in Tazewell County no longer needed for highway rights-of-way or purposes incidental to the construction, reconstruction, maintenance, repair, or improvement of public highways in exchange for real property and such other consideration as determined by the Department is necessary to render the property received by the Department suitable for use as an equipment shop facility. The total consideration received by the Department shall be of comparable value to the property conveyed by the Department in exchange.
§ 2. The exchange, and all documentation pursuant thereto, shall be in a form approved by the Attorney General. The appropriate officials of the Commonwealth are hereby authorized to prepare, execute, and deliver such deed and other documents pursuant to appropriate law and as may be necessary to accomplish the exchange.
