In the discussion of the discharge plan with the person, the person shall be given notice that he may request a hearing. Upon motion of the person, a hearing shall be held to determine the need, at the time of discharge, for mandatory outpatient treatment and the duration of a mandatory outpatient treatment order. A district court judge or  special justice shall hold the hearing within 72 hours after receiving the motion for a hearing; however, if the 72-hour period expires on a  Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the hearing shall be held by the close of business on the next day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday.
