SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Attorney General. Representation of the Commonwealth in civil actions. Clarifies that the Attorney General may file a civil action in the name of the Commonwealth or parens patriae when asked to do so by the Governor; may not file a civil action or participate as amicus curiae on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia unless requested or authorized to do so by the Governor or by an act of the legislature; and may represent the Commonwealth in matters before the federal government when authorized or requested to do so by the Governor or the General Assembly.
