11100763DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 36-99.12 as follows:
§ 36-99.12. Cooling supply in certain residential buildings.
Every owner and operator of any building who rents, leases or lets one or more dwelling units, rooming units, or dormitory or guest rooms on terms, either express or implied, to furnish cooling to the occupants thereof shall supply sufficient cooling during the period from May 1 to October 1 to maintain a temperature of not more than 80 degrees Fahrenheit in all habitable rooms.
