11103710DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 22.1-6 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 22.1-6. Permitted fees and charges.
Except as provided in this title or as permitted by regulation of the Board of Education, no fees or charges may be levied on any pupil by any school board. No pupil's scholastic report card or diploma shall be withheld because of nonpayment of any such fee or charge. In no case may a local school division charge a fee for (i) Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate testing, if such test is required for academic credit, or (ii) participation in extracurricular interscholastic athletics.
