SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Littering; cigarette butts. Prohibits disposal of cigarettes or any portion thereof on public property. Any person convicted of violation shall be subject to a civil penalty of $75. However, in lieu of appearing in court, the violator may mail or personally deliver payment of $75 to the clerk of the court.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Littering; cigarette butts. Prohibits disposal of cigarette butts on public property. Any person convicted of violation shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $250. However, in lieu of appearing in court, the violator may mail or personally deliver payment of $75 to the clerk of the court.
