WHEREAS, Jasmine Williams-Hayes, a graduate of Grafton High School, is commended for her selection as the Daily Press All-Star Girls Player of the Year while a senior at Grafton High School; and

WHEREAS, Jasmine Williams-Hayes played four years on the Grafton High School varsity basketball team, where her hard work and dedication were an example to others; and

WHEREAS, Jasmine Williams-Hayes averaged 8.4 points as a freshman, 13.9 points as a sophomore, 16.4 points as a junior, and 21.0 points as a senior; she also averaged 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 steals as a senior; and

WHEREAS, a talented athlete, Jasmine Williams-Hayes led the Grafton Clippers by scoring more than 20 points 27 times during her high school career, including the final nine games of her career; and

WHEREAS, Jasmine Williams-Hayes, a fierce competitor, averaged 27.7 points and 13.0 rebounds in helping the Grafton Clippers win the district and regional tournaments and advance to the state tournament; and

WHEREAS, Jasmine Williams-Hayes’ determination, commitment, and talent during her high school basketball career led to her deserving nomination and award as the Daily Press All-Star Girls Player of the Year; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Jasmine Williams-Hayes on her selection as the Daily Press All-Star Girls Player of the Year; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jasmine Williams-Hayes as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her accomplishments.
