SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE: (all summaries)
Obtaining salvage certificates or certificates of title to certain vehicles. Provides that whenever an insurance company or its agent applies for the registration of or a new certificate of title for a motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer and is unable to present a certificate of title, DMV may receive the application along with an affidavit indicating that the vehicle was acquired as the result of the claims process and the efforts made by the insurance company or its agent to obtain a certificate of title from the previous owner. The bill also allows DMV to charge a fee of no more than $25 for such transactions.
