2007 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the second enactment of Chapter 122 of the Acts of Assembly of 1870 is amended and reenacted as follows:
2. That the purposes of the said Hampton Normal and
Agricultural Institute University shall be as follows: For the
instruction of youth in the various common school, academic, and collegiate
branches, the best methods of teaching the same, and the best mode of practical
industry in its application to agricultural and the mechanic arts; and for the
carrying out of these purposes, the said trustees may establish any departments
or schools in the said institution. to operate an institution of higher
education, provide instruction and training, advance education and science,
conduct medical and scientific research in the public interest, promote health
and social welfare, benefit the community, and such other educational,
charitable, scientific and literary purposes as the trustees may from time to
time determine.
