S.B. 1015 Campaign finance disclosure; filings of candidate reports.

Campaign finance disclosure; filings of candidate reports.  Provides that the State Board of Elections shall develop and implement a centralized system to accept reports from local office candidates by July 1, 2007. Local office candidates who file electronically with the State Board will not be required to file locally, and the State Board shall make the filings available promptly to the local electoral board.

A BILL to amend and reenact §§ 24.2-946.1 and 24.2-947.5 of the Code of Virginia, relating to campaign finance disclosure; filings of candidate reports.

S.B. 1290 Interstate Compact for Juveniles; provides accountability, etc. to track juveniles across borders.

Interstate Compact for Juveniles. Repeals the Interstate Compact Relating to Juveniles located in Article 14 (§ 16.1-323 et seq.) of Chapter 11 of Title 16.1 and replaces it with the current version of the Interstate Compact for Juveniles, which has already been enacted in 30 states and provides for enhanced accountability, enforcement, visibility, and communication in relation to tracking and supervising juveniles moving across state borders.

A BILL to amend and reenact § 16.1-323 of the Code of Virginia, and to repeal §§ 16.1-324 through 16.1-330 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the interstate compact for juveniles.

S.B. 1307 Senatorial districts; makes technical adjustment in Amherst County.

Senatorial districts.  Makes a technical adjustment between the Fifteenth and Twenty-third districts in Amherst County so as to eliminate a split precinct.

S.B. 1334 Absentee voting; alternative procedures to expedite counting preparations.

Absentee voting; alternative procedures to expedite counting preparations. Authorizes electoral board to give general registrar the option to expedite preparations for counting optical scan absentee ballots returned by mail. The board can authorize verifying completion of the required affirmation, marking pollbook, and inserting ballots in optical scan equipment in presence of officers of election representing both parties without initiating any vote counts. The measure requires registrars who discover missing affirmations more than two weeks before election day to attempt to notify voters to give them an opportunity to correct the deficiency.

A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 24.2-709.1, relating to alternative procedures to expedite counting absentee votes.
