SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Long-Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer Training and Assistance Fund and fees; established. Establishes the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer Training and Assistance Fund ("Fund"). Moneys in the Fund shall be used for the training, technical assistance, and education of local long-term care ombudsman volunteers in order to increase the number of local volunteers, improve the quality of volunteer training, and better protect the rights of and ensure the quality of care of Virginians receiving or in need of long-term care services. The bill also creates an annual service charge of $1 per patient bed or resident for which nursing homes and assisted living facilities are licensed. These fees shall be paid into the state treasury and credited to the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer Training and Assistance Fund.
