SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Virginia Interagency Coordinating Council; establishment of local early intervention systems. Authorizes the state lead agency for early intervention to contract with local lead agencies for the implementation of local early intervention systems statewide. Under the bill, a local lead agency shall have the duty to (i) establish and administer a local system of early intervention services that are in compliance with all relevant federal and state policies and procedures, (ii) implement consistent and uniform policies and procedures for the determination of parental liability and fees for intervention services, and (iii) manage relevant state and federal early intervention funds for the local early intervention system.
