HOUSE BILL NO. 2602 FLOOR AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by Delegate Landes on February 5, 2005) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Landes) A BILL to direct the Board of Education to take certain action regarding the Commonwealth's participation in the federal No Child Left Behind Act.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. That the Board of Education shall examine the fiscal and other implications for the Commonwealth and local governments should Virginia withdraw from participation in the federal No Child Left Behind Act. The Board shall convey its findings from such examination to the House Committees on Education and Appropriations and the Senate Committees on Education and Health and Finance no later than November 1, 2005.
