Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 2.2-2448 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 2.2-2448. Virginia-Asian Advisory Board established; purpose.

The Virginia-Asian Advisory Board (the Board) is hereby established as an advisory board within the meaning of § 2.2-2100 in the executive branch of state government. The purpose of the Board shall be to advise the Governor on ways to improve economic and cultural links between the Commonwealth and Pacific Rim nations, with a focus on the areas of commerce and trade, art and education, and general government. In addition, the Board shall advise the Governor on issues affecting the Asian-American community of the Commonwealth.
