Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 15.2-1208 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 15.2-1208. Same; in certain counties.

Chapter 297 of the Acts of 1944, approved March 29, 1944, requiring permits to sell or purchase pistols or revolvers in any county having a density of population of more than 1,000 a square mile, is continued in effect repealed. Any such records or copies thereof that were copied pursuant to this section shall be destroyed by the custodian of the records on or before July 1, 2005. The custodian shall certify to the circuit court that it has been accomplished.

2. That § 15.2-1207 of the Code of Virginia is repealed.

3. That Chapter 297 of the Acts of 1944 is repealed.
