2003 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. Biennial election of county supervisors in Gloucester County; initial terms.
In the event the board of supervisors of Gloucester County shall provide by ordinance for the election of supervisors biennially for staggered four-year terms pursuant to § 24.2-219 of the Code of Virginia, the board also may provide by ordinance, notwithstanding the provisions of subsection B of § 24.2-219, that following the election to be held in November 2003 the two at-large supervisors-elect shall be placed in a separate pool from the five supervisors-elect from districts for purposes of assigning initial terms by lot so as to provide staggered terms for the two at-large members. Thereafter, all supervisors shall be elected for terms of four years.
2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
