HOUSE BILL NO. 2707 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Counties, Cities and Towns on January 31, 2003) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Stump) A BILL to provide powers to certain towns related to operation of community centers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That any town meeting the requirements of this act may operate a community center that includes a movie theater for the exhibition of motion pictures produced expressly for commercial exhibition. The provisions of this act shall apply only to towns in which no privately owned movie theater for the exhibition of such motion pictures has been in operation within the town boundaries for 3 years.
