SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Claims; Jeffrey D. Cox. Provides relief for Jeffrey D. Cox, consisting of a lump-sum payment of $350,000 to be paid by August 1, 2002, and an annuity that will pay out $400,000 over a ten-year period beginning in 2002. Mr. Cox was incarcerated between 1990 and 2001 for a crime that newly discovered evidence revealed he did not commit. The Virginia Supreme Court entered an order vacating the conviction on November 13, 2001. The bill is identical to House Bill 789.
