2002 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the second enactment of Chapter 460 of the Acts of Assembly of 2001 is amended and reenacted as follows:
2. That, notwithstanding the provisions of this act, the Board shall certify as
a certified substance abuse counselor any person who files an application with
the Board after July 1, 2001, but before the effective date of the new
certification regulations to be promulgated by the Board pursuant to §
54.1-3505 if such person meets the certification requirements for certified
substance abuse counselors in effect prior to July 1, 2001. Unless such
certification later is suspended or revoked by the Board, such certification shall
remain in effect until the effective date of the new certification regulations to be
promulgated by the Board pursuant to § 54.1-3505, at which time the person
shall be deemed to hold certification at the appropriate level under §
54.1-3507.1 or § 54.1-3507.2, as determined by the Board.
